Window Installations & Replacements in Berlin, CT

Nu-Face Home Improvements has replaced windows on homes across Berlin from single basement windows on Church Street to multi-window full-home replacements on Kenton Street and Lawndale Street. Our showroom on the Berlin Turnpike carries ProVia and Mezzo window lines, and every project we show here was completed right in Berlin by our own installation team.

New windows are one of the highest-impact upgrades a Berlin homeowner can make. Done right, they improve energy performance, reduce street noise, eliminate drafts, and update the look of the home inside and out. Every project on this page is a real Berlin home.

Window Projects We Have Completed in Berlin

Berlin’s housing stock includes everything from 1950s ranches and capes to older two-story colonials and gambrel homes. Window replacement needs vary by home type and age. Here are several Berlin projects that show the range of work we do.

Kenton Street: Multi-Window Replacement on a Gambrel Colonial

The Kenton Street home is a classic Berlin gambrel colonial with multiple windows across the upper and lower levels. The homeowner wanted a full replacement to improve energy performance and update the look of the home. We installed new double hung windows with white vinyl frames throughout, a clean and consistent choice that works well with the existing navy blue siding. The result is a significantly more polished exterior with noticeably improved thermal performance.

Lawndale Street: Bay Window Replacement

The Lawndale Street project involved replacing a large existing bay window on the side of a two-story home. Bay windows are one of the more complex window replacements because of the angled sill, the roof cap above, and the need to maintain structural integrity through the installation. The before photo shows the original bay window in place. The after shows the new unit installed with a clean white frame and updated sill. The difference in glass clarity and frame condition between the two is immediately visible.

Rod Road: Picture Window and Double Hung Combination

The Rod Road home had an original grouping of three windows on the front of the house, a picture window flanked by two single hung units. The frames had yellowed and the seals on the original insulated glass had failed, which was causing condensation between the panes and reducing the thermal performance significantly. We replaced the entire grouping with a new combination unit featuring a larger center picture window flanked by double hung operable windows. The updated profile is cleaner and more proportional to the home.

Highview Terrace: Stone Foundation Home with Basement and Interior Windows

Highview Terrace is one of the more distinctive homes in our Berlin portfolio. The before shows the original small basement hopper that has clear structural damage. The after interior shot shows the newly installed window from inside, with clean white vinyl framing and a fresh wood sill. The Energy Star label is visible on the glass, confirming the product’s certification.

Church Street: Basement Window Replacement in an Older Berlin Home

The Church Street project involved replacing a deteriorated original basement window in a home with an exposed brick foundation. The before photo shows the original window, which had rotted framing, no insulation value, and clear air infiltration around the edges. Installing a properly sized replacement window in an older brick or stone opening requires careful measurement and sometimes custom sizing to avoid gaps. The after photo shows the new unit freshly installed and sealed, with foam insulation visible around the rough opening. A significant improvement in both function and energy performance.

Ellwood Drive: Sunroom Window Replacement

The Ellwood Drive project is unique in the Berlin portfolio because it involved a sunroom window installation rather than standard exterior openings. The photo is taken from inside the sunroom and shows four new large picture windows running across the room with a view of the Berlin neighborhood below. The Nu-Face truck is visible in the reflection in the right panel, which dates and places the project. This type of installation requires careful attention to the sunroom framing and the weight load of the glass.

Note: The surrounding sunroom structure was pre-existing and is not representative of Nu-Face’s craftsmanship or work.

Webster Ridge: Sliding Window Replacement

The Webster Ridge project shows a single new slider window installed on the lower level of a ranch home. The new unit features a clean white vinyl frame and a wide glass area that replaced a smaller original opening. The clean integration with the existing siding and the neat garden bed framing the base of the home shows the kind of finished result Nu-Face delivers even on smaller single-window projects.

Sage Drive: Dormer Window on a Cape Cod Roofline

The Sage Drive project focused on dormer windows on a Cape Cod style home. Dormer windows are one of the trickier window replacement categories because the pitch of the roof and the angles of the dormer framing require precise fitting. The before photo shows the original window with aged framing set into the dormer. The after shows the new unit cleanly installed with a consistent white frame that integrates with the updated siding profile.
